Our Clients & Projects

Higher Momentum partners with colleges and organizations to design strategic, data-informed solutions that improve enrollment, retention, and student success. Each project is built on collaboration, professional learning, and sustainable systems that strengthen both institutional performance and employee engagement.

Generating Institutional Momentum

Montcalm Community College (MCC)

Higher Momentum partnered with Montcalm Community College to facilitate a comprehensive Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) inquiry and implementation roadmap. This multi-level engagement included stakeholder interviews across all SEM-related divisions, an assessment of admissions and onboarding processes, and a secret-shopper evaluation using four MCC-defined student personas.

The resulting findings informed a set of actionable recommendations aligned with the college’s recently launched Strategic Plan and its participation in the national Rural Guided Pathways initiative. The resulting SEM framework integrates Early Momentum Metrics (EMMs) and institutional data dashboards to strengthen student access, retention, and success.

A key element of the partnership focuses on professional development and employee training to build institutional capacity in continuous quality improvement (CQI) and project management systems. These initiatives are equipping college leaders and staff to apply data-informed practices, streamline workflows, and sustain long-term improvements in student success, enrollment, and employee efficiency and engagement.

Outcomes: Implementation of the Year 1–3 SEM action plan is underway, with measurable results—such as gains in retention, onboarding completion, and EMM performance—expected in early 2026.

Strengths in Action

Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) — TRIO Program

Higher Momentum partnered with the TRIO Student Support Services team at Grand Rapids Community College to design and launch a comprehensive CliftonStrengths-based advising and student development model. This multi-phase engagement included professional learning for TRIO staff — which focused on the development of student learning outcomes, as well as the creation of corresponding Canvas (LMS) modules, and a communication plan to introduce students to the strengths framework and its connection to academic success.

The initiative equips both advisors and students to identify and apply their individual strengths to learning, goal-setting, and persistence—advancing TRIO’s mission of equity and student empowerment.

A central focus of this collaboration has been building institutional capacity and staff confidence in applying the CliftonStrengths framework within advising, coaching, and program development. Through hands-on training and curriculum design support, the TRIO team now has sustainable tools to scale and refine its approach over time.

Outcomes: Program implementation and student engagement data are being collected throughout the 2025–26 academic year, with measurable results—such as increased retention, persistence, and student success—anticipated in early 2026.

Clients & Projects

At Higher Momentum, our client partnerships are built on collaboration, transparency, and a shared commitment to student success. We work alongside colleges and organizations to design and implement strategies that create lasting, measurable impact—strengthening both institutional systems and the people who sustain them.

Our engagements operate at multiple levels: from developing Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) frameworks and Guided Pathways alignment to building the internal capacity of teams through professional development, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and project management training. This integrated approach ensures that improvements in enrollment, retention, and student success are not only achieved—but sustained over time.

Every project is grounded in data-informed decision-making and aligned with the mission, culture, and priorities of each institution. As our current multi-year initiatives continue to mature, measurable outcomes—including student retention, early momentum metrics, and employee engagement indicators—will be available in early 2026.
